about
I'm Yash. I'm not an engineer. No CS degree, no formal training, and a few years ago I couldn't have told you what a VPS was. I spent six and a half years in commercial banking at Citi instead, sitting across from Indian SME owners — manufacturers, traders, service firms — and hearing the same thing in every meeting: we need to cut costs, and the knowledge lives in people's heads.
In 2026 I stopped advising and started trying to build the thing I kept wishing existed. That's the honest version. I didn't arrive with a plan — I arrived with a problem I understood and a pile of AI tools I didn't. Everything since has been learning in public: spinning up servers I immediately had to learn to secure, wiring up agents I didn't fully understand, breaking things, reading the error messages, and slowly getting less confused.
This site is where I write that down. Not as someone who's figured it out — as someone a few steps into figuring it out, sharing what's actually working and what just broke. If you're a non-technical person trying to make sense of what "AI agents" and "self-hosted" and "the cloud" actually mean for a real business, that's the gap I'm trying to bridge. I translate it as I learn it, because I'm doing both at once.
The business side of this is WyrdWerk, where I deploy these systems for small businesses. The writing lives in the archive, and the things that are running live under projects. Off the clock I make Sage & Circuit — AI-assisted music videos about Jung's shadow, stardust, and mass extinction, which tells you something about how my brain works.
$ how I got here
2026 — present
Founder & Principal, WyrdWerk LLP
Trying to deploy AI for small businesses in a way they can actually own. Early days, figuring it out in public.
2019 — 2025
Citi — Commercial Banking
Six and a half years across Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata, working with Indian SME owners. The job taught me one thing above all: every business decision comes down to cost, margin, and whether the knowledge walks out the door when someone quits.
2017 — 2019
IIM Lucknow — PGDM, Finance & Strategy
Finance and strategy, not engineering. Double degree with KEDGE Business School.
2016 / 2018
Internships — SEBI, Nomura
Early exposure to markets and risk. None of it involved writing code.
$ the short version
Still learning. If something here is wrong, I'd genuinely like to know.
